ABOUT
Daniela Pinto is a film, television, and video game composer based in Toronto.
She is best known for composing the original score for the TV series POTLUCK LADIES (LifeSketch Media), which was a nominee for Best Drama series at the 2025 Canadian Screen Awards. She also composed a dark and brooding hybrid orchestral score for the Fae Pictures-produced short film DIASPORA, which premiered at TIFF 2022 and earned her a Canadian Screen Music Award nomination. Other notable works include the DGC Award nominated short film COLD (dir. Liz Whitmere), an unsettling menopause-themed body horror film starring Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp) and the award-winning spatial puzzle game TRIVERSAL by Phantom Compass.
Daniela started learning classical piano when she was 8 years old, but credits the music from her favourite video games and anime series for inspiring her to push herself as a musician. Constantly immersed in storytelling and the creative process, she taught herself composition while studying filmmaking at Sheridan College, and scored over a dozen films by the time she graduated - including a few that she wrote and directed herself.
Daniela is also an accomplished sound editor and a member of the Directors Guild of Canada. She has worked on the sound teams of large scale productions like CRIMES OF THE FUTURE (dir. David Cronenberg), MOONHAVEN (AMC+), and SAINT-PIERRE (CBC), as well as dozens of independent productions. As a composer fluent in the workflows and tools of post production audio, she brings both creative vision and technical problem-solving skills to every project she works on.
